Prof. Dr. Pierre-M. Meier, CHCIO, CHCDO, CHCISO
Prof. Dr. Pierre-Michael Meier is the full-time CEO and lecturer at the Academy of Health Information Management Executives (AHIME), chief representative of the Hosp.Do.IT hospital association, and CEO of the ENTSCHEIDERFABRIK ecosystem—the eHealth incubator.
At the Hospital Association and ENTSCHEIDERFABRIK, his role involves supporting members with a focus on digitalization and IT strategy.
Based on his experience and expertise, Pierre-Michael Meier holds the “Medical Informatics” certificate from the German Informatics Society (GI) and the German Society for Medical Informatics (GMDS), as well as “Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO)” certificate, among others, and from AHIME, the “Strategic Health-Information-Management Executive (SH-I-ME)” certificate. Holding a Ph.D. in Public Health and a degree in Business Administration with a focus on international hospital management and business informatics, he has had a distinguished international career in leadership roles at Deloitte, Thyssen-Krupp, Siemens, Richard Wolf, and März Internetwork Services.
His professional focus lies in digitalization and IT strategy. He is also an honorary professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen and teaches courses on digital health and the successful digital transformation of hospitals at the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Endowed Chair for Medical Management held by Prof. Dr. J. Wasem.
Pierre-Michael Meier volunteers to promote digitalization in the German healthcare system. He is EVP and CFO of the Association of Health Information Management e.V., serves on the board of IHE Europe and the IT Group of the European Association of Hospital Managers, is a member of other associations such as BVMI, GMDS, etc., and is a member of the Bishop of Essen’s Council for Health and Medical Technology.
